Civic radio

Wondering if a factory radio from a 2000 civic would work in a 2004 crv?

Re: Civic radio

If they’re both single/double din then it should be fine. My biggest question is: why?

Plugs or wire locations may be different. You would need the code for the radio.
You can buy an aftermarket deck for around $100 and get aux, usb, Bluetooth, etc.

Re: Civic radio

Or go to the junkyard. I picked up a stock radio for my 2003 CRV for under $20.

I might look into that. Have a local guy that has 2 of these radios from Civic's and he only wants $20 each for them.

Re: Civic radio

Definitely not worth the hassle of trying to swap a radio from a different car into it for the sake of a few dollars.

Re: Civic radio

Keep in mind if you're putting in a Honda radio you will need the code for it

Yes, so if you grab a radio from the junkyard make sure you grab the VIN from the car! If you don't have the VIN I'm not sure you can look up the security code.

Re: Civic radio 2008

How can I unlock my radio if it asks for a code? For a 2008 Honda Civic

Re: Civic radio

Each Honda radio has a code required to activate it it’s lost power at any point. Assuming it’s the original head unit for that car, you can get the code from the dealership by providing your vin.

Re: Civic radio

You can also grab the VIN and the serial number and look up the unlock code online.
