Rep Power: 0 No audio out of rear speakers
Hi,
My radio was in anti-theft when I bought my car today but found the website to get it unlocked. It now plays music but only from the front speakers. Fading to the rear speakers cuts off all sound so apparently either the radio has no output to the rear channels or there is maybe a wiring issue? I notice there is a little component box mounted on the rear decklid between the speakers - is that anything to do with the audio system?
I'm probably going to replace the stereo anyway so I'm not too concerned but I might want to see if I can find a way to test the speakers or the wiring.
Thanks,
Rich

What color wires are going into that component box? A pic might help

Here are a couple of pics under the rear deck lid in the trunk..
Right Rear Speaker from underneath
Component box in between rear speakers
Don't know if that helps.

Looking at schematics, that "control box" is the glass antenna coil assembly (#3 on the diagram) . That shouldn't affect your speaker output
trying to figure out ways to test speakers. I guess for now, you can test electrical continuity in the wires going to the speakers

I have one of these on order - we'll see if the rear speakers start working:

Am I going to have radio reception issues with it having that antenna module? I have a Bonneville that has a front and rear antenna on the glass and a module that combines them and it requires an FM Composite signal fed back to it from the radio to work properly. So.. my aftermarket stereo radio reception sucks.
