How to wire front door speakers?

I am planning on using an amp to power some front door speakers for a 1998 civic LX.

Has anyone done this or seen a tutorial going through the process?

Do most ppl just drill through the door or go through existing wiring?

No need to drill through the door. Get yourself a spool of speaker wire, connect it to the existing wiring in your doors that are going to your speakers now. Then run your new wire from your speaker, to where ever your amp is located. Same thing for the other side.

I haven't checked but are you sure the 6th gen civics are not using molex connectors? If they are, they would have to be drilled?

Honestly, Im not sure. I have a 6th gen, and all 6 speakers in my car are wired to an amp. I did no drilling anywhere.

If you already have a wiring harness, just connect to the speaker inputs there. If not, just tap into the wires under the dash or behind the kick panels. Unless you are doing a competition system, the stock wiring is more than adequate for your needs.

No competition here, just want to put some infinity 6.5's in, 55w rms....that little stock wiring will handle that?

Yes, your stock wiring will work just fine with those speakers.

If it helps, I am running a set of Boston Pro's 6.5" components ran off an Alpine PDX-4.100 bridged at 200 watts a channel with no issues on the stock wiring.
