So im asauming a bit here but im sure a good number of you have radar detectors right? How do you have it mounted besides on the windshield, im trying to get some stealthmount ideas, but ill post my idea here to see what you think and to get pics o how youve mounted yours

My idea:
Take a piece of mirrored plexi to replace the rearview mirror with and in the bottom center ill drill 5 holes almosr all the way theough and glue leds in them and wire them down into the dash where ill mount the detector so in theory you will only see the leds when they are on

From what I understand hiding the device will hinder its ability to work at its full potential.

if i dont get one with the remote mount sensors that go on the bumper, ill mount it in a waterproof box of sorts under the bumper somewhere that it can still have a relatively clear line of sigght to the front and the back of the car

Re: Who has aradar detector and how is it mounted

I've got one hardwired in my lowrider, mounted to the ceiling above the mirror, bracket attached to the RV mirror mount screws. Black tape over the lights for stealth.

It's old school. It can find the front door of every Walmart around. I don't drive fast enough to really need one anymore, I've paid my fair share of donations to the county and state already.

When I use to have mine I use to mount it in two places. Right above the rearview mirror or just sitting on the dash all the way to the front as possible. I've seen people put it right on the middle of the windshield.

Just don't speed. If you do, do it on daylight. You can see "them" ahead of time.

im not saying i speed all the time, id just like to know a little more ahead of time if theres a trap upahead so i can slowdown, i dont speed at night, because i dont know whose a cop, if there are many people on the highway i wont go over 70-80 in the fast lane if theres no one on whatever road im on and i have enough visibility and the roads long enough, i will definitely open the car up once in a while
