I had a shop install my sound system and when the car is on, i can hear noise coming from all the speakers, even when the radio isn't on..? Then when i roll the windows down, the spacers aren't big enough so the window ends up smacking the speakers.....After about an hour of driving, my passenger speaker now sounds like its blown or damaged. I haven't even turned it 3/4 up yet.

What is causing that sound?....could it have damaged my speaker?

I didn't buy the speakers from the shop so im afraid there going to tell me to get lost!

Front speakers: JL audio xr 6 1/2 components
Rear speakers: JL audio vr 6X9
Amps: 500/1 300/4
Sub: 12" Alpine type x
JL Cleansweep.........no headunit...so technically i have two ways of controlling the volume

youll need spacers to clear the windows. .75" should do. the noise you hear is probably a bad ground. your amp is probably misgrounded. re-sand the grounding attachment point and reattach the cable. and if your window crushed the speaker, theres a good chace it damaged something. id disconnect it asap.

I already have .75" spacers and it still doesn't clear the window but there should be a smidge of room by the door panel. Im just going to tell the guys at the shop to put some washers on the screws.

The shop took two days to install it, so on the end of the first day i got it back and when i would turn the volume on the radio half way up and the master volume damn the noise would disappear. Vise versa and the noise would come back, so i figured it was me not knowing which volume setting to use. On the second day, i get it back and no matter how i adjust the volume settings i can't get that sound to go away. I hope its a bad ground.....ill check that out before i take it back to the shop

The verdict is in......voice coil burnt up after 3 hours of play. Instead i opted for some focal components, sounds wayy better anyways. And since i have a cleansweep and not a traditional headunit, when the car is on, it automatically powers the amps, so i got a toggle switch to cut off the power.

haha naw, i wired the master volume **** right by the armrest so i don't have to lean forward. The black **** is the bass controller...headphone jack, on/off switch for amps etc.
