I have two 10" Type R's. All i want is amp opinions. Kicker or Alpine. Alpine MRP-M1000 or Kicker 06ZX1000.1. Both are 1000rms at 2-Ohms. Which will make my type r's hit bigger excursion + have GOOD SQ. personal experience would be wonderful

If it concerns you I have an Alpine 9883 head unit, Alpine Type R door speakers, as well as an Alpine MRP-F450 amp running the door speakers and a third sub. The Alpine amp would complete the Alpine system, but the Kicker seems to have straight up specs.

Kicker has the specs but not by that far. You'll feel better knowing you got A's all throughout that Car and adds to the show and tell value ; )

Damn stole my idea. I got a alpine head unit, stock speakers, pdx 4.100, mrd1005 and 10" type X. I had 2 10" type R's but when you wire them together the load is 4 ohms, not 2 ohms, so you only get a max of 800rms. Thats why I got my type X since the dual coil sub by it self can wire at 2 ohms letting it receive all 1000wrms. If you aren't getting a deal for that mrd1000 amp (should be same as mrd1005) i'd get the pdx 1.1000. Its 1000wrms at ALL ohms, no matter what ohm. that would be better IMO. but good luck

the PDX is well over $400, while the mrp-m1000 is only $289 at the link. and 2 seperate DVC 2Ohm subs wired in series equals a 2Ohm load on the amp

Its underrated as well. Probably get 1200, 1300 WRMS @ 1ohm out of that.

But honestly, out of the two you posted either will work great for you. Just get whatever is cheaper and you'll be more then happy with it.

Hrm. Tough one. I would stick with Alpine just to complete the ensemble. Kicker makes a solid amp though.

ive had my alpine amp 6 years with daily usage and its been thrown around the trunk in a major accident. some plastic broke off, but it still works fine lol.

Alpine to stay in the brand and its a good amp. Kicker does make a very solid amp too. But Alpine all the way through just adds that certain touch.
