What I want to do
What I want to do
Hey I listen to hardcore metal/progressive metal/technical metal bands like between the buried and me, all that remains, august burns red, and some hard hitting drummers in bands like protest the hero and the human abstract.... anyways
I don't really want to go all out and get huge subs, I just want enough bass to make the drums on the songs hit hard, and be CLEAR. Clarity is key when listening to rock and I love to follow the bass guitar lines. All I want is loud better sounding rock, what kind of speakers/amp should I buy? Basically I wish my car sounded like my loigtech 5.1 speakers for my computer, boy computer speakers sound reeeeally good for some reason and they only like 50 dollars lol

JL8w7's ( 2 ) in a ported box built to specs, JL 500/1, JL ZR6.5's in the front, JL 300/2. 170 amp alternator, and a kinetics 1400 battery, then dynomat the entire car. I guaruntee that this set up sounds pristine in an em2 w/heavy rock, classic rock, rap, hip hop, well you get the idea. If you dont believe me and your in Houston pm me.

You could probably get by with upgrading all four speakers and getting a 4-channel amp, then later on a nice deck. Subs aren't really necessary when you're not looking for groundshaking bass. Of course they do add to sound quality.
Putting a <$500 budget on it is your biggest constraint, car audio costs money and if you want volume and quality you're gonna have to pay.
