Newbie, winter tire question...
My car requires 185/65 14s, Can I put 185/60 15s winter tires on a 2000 civic? Does anyone think it would rub?

Figure it up yourself here:
https://www.civicforums.com/forums/t...calculator.php
Only about a 1/4 inch bigger diameter, shouldn't be a problem.
You will need a set of 15" wheels though.
Si used a 15"x6" wheel with 195-55-15 tire.

Re: Newbie, winter tire question...
The bad things: you have more rotating mass, farther out from the center hub. The inertia increases by the square of the radius, so this is bad I suppose.

It is way easier to do it that way than it is to mount a 14" tire on a 15" rim. That's a real struggle.
I've seen someone attempt to put a 16" tire on a 16.5" truck rim. Got it on but the bead just could. not. seat. no matter how much air pressure was put in the tire. "But it's soooo close! It's ALMOST there!"
I spoke what I thought the problem was.
IDK how that turned out after I left.
