What are your state/provincial laws surrounding tint? I would never advocate for leaving valuables in a car but that would help hide them, at least.

Another option is simply to put your items in the trunk.

bolted down lockboxes, too. And if you can't bolt it down, a lockbox that can accept a steel cable that you can wrap around something like the seat sliders and/or seatbelt lower mount bar thingy. Trunk, for sure, like chez said. It'll at least hide the stuff out of plain view

Build your own trunk floor and storage compartments

Because the thing is, isn't civics really easy to break into? I'm planing on adding a kill switch of some sort so they can't steal the car, but I was wondering if I could possibly secure items in the trunk without them taking it. Say someone manages to get into the car and pop the trunk, is there a way to make it so they can't just grab the stuff? Thank you for the replies, covid hit my fam hard.

Re: Got a 03 civic and I want to store items in it

you can disable the cable opening the trunk
only key will open it
Only key opens up the rear seats as well. Just don't loose the key.
Also, 7th gen civics will not move without the key - i don't think wiring will make the fuel pump turn on easily as the 6th gen and older without immobilizer. I could be wrong., though. But they would need to connect not only ignition, but also the immobilizer wiring

funny thing is we mostly hear about the lever actually not working

Couldn't they just find a way to pop the trunk from the outside or is that not worth worrying about

Re: Got a 03 civic and I want to store items in it

If someone really wants to ****** something in your car, they will. If the trunk is locked and the lever is locked, it'll be a very destructive entry. Even if you locked something down, if they really wanted it, they'll take it. Nothing is going to be theft proof. Best you can do is deter theft. hide it out of plain sight, lock things down.

If you're that paranoid about stuff getting stolen out of your car, I'd pursue other options for security

Re: Got a 03 civic and I want to store items in it

You could weld the doors, hood, and trunk shut and install bulletproof windows so no one could break in.

It would be a little harder to secure the car to the ground so it could not be towed away, but it could be done,

If someone wants in they will get in...

My Civic some quick hit goons simply broke both the driver and passenger windows out, so as not to trip the alarm, leaned in and rummaged through it.. never opened a door or the trunk as they know it will set off the alarm.. probably in and out and gone in a few minutes.
