Checking Honda Model

Hi All,

Is there a way to check your exact Honda Civic Model? I know mine is an LX but how do you know if its got ABS, SAB and all those other variants.

I tried entereing my VIN at https://estore.honda.com/honda/parts...ehicle-vin.asp but they don't know.

Thank you!

Re: Checking Honda Model

Kinda broken down like this (at least with regards to the 7thgen):

DX (2001-2005, available in coupe and sedan only)
  • 1.7L SOHC non-VTEC engine (D17A1 -- 117HP)
  • Manual windows
  • Manual side view mirrors
  • Manual Locks
  • No tach (IIRC)
  • No A/C
  • AM/FM radio
  • 14" steel wheels with 185/70R14 tires
LX (2001-2005,available in coupe and sedan only; same features as DX with the following upgrades)
  • Power Windows
  • Power side view mirrors
  • Power Locks
  • Tach
  • A/C
  • Cruise control
  • AM/FM/Cassette radio
EX (2001-2005,available in coupe and sedan only; same features as LX with the following upgrades)
  • 1.7L SOHC VTEC engine (D17A2 -- 127HP)
  • Moonroof
  • ABS
  • Variable intermittent wipers
  • Remote keyless entry
  • Height adjustable driver's seat
  • AM/FM/CD player
  • 15" steel wheels (2003+ came with alloy rims) with 185/65R15 tires
Si (2002-2005, available in hatchback only; same features as the EX with the following upgrades)
  • 2.0L DOHC iVTEC engine (K20A3 -- 160HP)
  • 5-speed manual transmission only
  • 4-wheel disk brakes
  • Leather wrapped steering wheel
  • Rear wiper/washer (because hatchback)
  • Sport suspension
  • 15" alloy rims with 195/60R15 tires
Those are the big differences. There were also factory options, but this comparison is for standard equipment. There are also differences in transmissions between the DX/LX, EX, and Si, but I won't get into that, either.

To ultimately answer your question.. Only fancy features your car should have over the DX (assuming standard equipment and completely stock): power windows, locks, and mirrors, A/C, and cruise control.

There's also the "Special Edition" (up here in Canada at least)
I have one and it's a DX with A/C, power locks, tach, and CD player. No ABS and mine's an auto.

Re: Checking Honda Model

yeah, there's also the HX and VP, but I didn't feel like getting into that. lol. I just listed the "main" trim levels.

TBH, laziness. Did that between studying stuff for new job.

Re: Checking Honda Model

Oh ok, gotcha!

Mine is a Canadian LX 2 Door Coupe.

When I go here to get parts http://torontohondaparts.com/Categor...ookieSupport=1

It shows different "Grades" i.e "LX (ABS, AC), LX (ABS, SAB), LX (AC), LX (AC, SAB).

So mines just an LX (AC) as far as I know.

I don't think I have an ABS, since one of these https://www.varaosahaku.fi/fi-en/Sea...l/ID-30558181/ is missing on top of my "Engine Side Mounting" Part: 50827-S5A-003 but Side Airbags, I'm not sure.
