Rep Power: 0 93 civic shifter broke in half
just bought my first car its a 93 civic manual, my mom was driving today and the shifter broke clean in half
my brother suggests that i take it apart pull the shifter out and have it welded.
should i just go to the junk yard and buy a new piece?
and how does all the center console and that taken apart?
this is my first car and i dont know that much so all the help i can get counts!
thanks

the metal piece where you shift broke off completely in half so there is still the actual part you screw in it inside the **** and no i dont :/
i just took the console apart and how on earth do you get the whole stick out? is it something easy to do or something serious?

Re: 93 civic shifter broke in half
i would just get a universal shift **** and plop in on. unless you're replacing the entire shifter, you shouldn't have to take it out. not sure how easy it would be on a 93 civic. ive only done it in my jeep, and there's plenty of room under there to work lol.
