OK guys so here's what happened, I've been trying to fix up my civic ( car is in rough shape but turns on and gas pedal was working ) and the other day I went and got it a new air filter, swapped the old one for the new one then when I went to turn on my car I noticed that the gas pedal and was hard! I mean if I push it its like resisting to go down and won't rev at all. I tried putting my old air filter back on to see if that would do anything but nope. I cleaned the throttle body but still nothing! The throttle cable is a little worn out but still in tact. Can some one help??

Is the pedal still held high or is it now at the floor?

Cable got knocked off the little guide around the throttle arm?

You're gonna have to get in there and look to see what really happened. It's a simple cable system, there isn't a whole lot to go wrong.
