Need help with zc motor!!!!!

Bought a 92 civic with a zc motor swap. I know it's a 1.6 vtec. I'm rebuilding the motor and need to know if the American parts are interchangeable like timing belt, thermostat, head gasket, intake gasket, rod bearings, cam seals. My vin is zc7416576. How do I decode it and how do I know how to tell what it came from.

"SOHC ZC VTEC

VTEC

Found in
1991–1993 Honda Civic Ferio EJ3 (JDM)
1992–1995 Honda Civic EJ1 (JDM)
1992–1995 Honda Domani MA4 (JDM)

Souce: Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_D...e#SOHC_ZC_VTEC

As far as parts go, those cars would be the first place to look. It seems like most articles on the internets discuss the non-VTEC DOHC model. You're 100% sure you have the SOHC VTEC version??? That means he must have gotten the engine shipped out from Japan!
What trim is your car, then? The VIN should be 17 characters if the body is a US model.

Re: Need help with zc motor!!!!!

I've heard, though never seen nor experienced personally, of the sohc vtec zc. Per the wiki article, it's most similar to the D16Z6. USDM cars that had that engine: 92-95 si and ex as well as the 93-95 del sol si

Not saying I doubt that you have a sohc zc vtec, but you can always check the engine stamp to verify engine model.

Also, if you're standing in front of the car, there will be a vtec solenoid sticking up on the upper left hand side of the valve cover. (The top red circle in this pic)

Yes! This motor is a zc, 1.6 vtec sohc. The serial I gave was from the stamp. Yes I know it's a vtec because if that solenoid. Here is a pic to clarify.

Like I said, wasn't doubting you. I think my post was to really put Poopies' mind at ease that you knew what you were talking about.

Ea I know there's no ac or power steering. I'll be adding them back to it. Along with getting rid of that ugly blue.
