Need help...
Need help...
I'm looking at a 95 civic and I was hoping I could get an opinion on it. They only want $1,500 for it however it needs a thermostat, rack seal leaks, map sensor, distributor oil seal leaks and are unsure of miles. Is this a cheap fix and good deal or a bad idea?

First, I would like to mention a more informative title might grab you some more attention and yeild more responses.
Second. This questoin is hard to respond to... to me that car sounds like it needs more work than it is worth. The thermostat, map sensor is not an issue, however not knowing the true milage, and oil leaks can become challenging and expensive...
Third, how is the body and frame on it, lots of rust under the car? looking under the hood and in the trunk is structural damage?
Ultimatly it is your choice but cautious if you dont have a good cash flow or mechanical skills.. Parts are relatively cheap for that year...

Re: Need help...
Honestly I say hell no that sounds like too much. I would not pay more than 800 if the shell was in good condition. I would look for a cheap one that needs an engine. Engines are worth no more than 300$ with tranny if you do it yourself
