88 honda civic has no electric power to the fuel pump
i own a 88 honda civic lx. i was driving down the road and my car started acting like it was running outta gas. it finally came to a stop and the car would not start. when i turn the key forward i dont hear the fuel pump kick on so i checked the fuses under the dash and under the hood. they are all good! so i checked the main relay and that is good too! so i figured it was the fuel pump so i hard wired it from the battery and you could hear the pump. checked power to the pump and there was none. I'm stumped and would appreciate any assistance. im not sure what to look at now? thanks.

EDIT: Crap, that car is too old. The Honda site doesn't have wiring diagrams for it. I may not be much help.

Re: 88 honda civic has no electric power to the fuel pump
Still can't figure where the malfunction is. I hot wired the fuel pump, connecting a wire from the relay running back directly to the fuel pump, which works at the turn of the key. How ever the gas gauge does not work and I can't determine how much gas is in the tank. I touch both leads to the fuel pump and the fuel fuse popped. So I'm not sure where I'm not getting power from that goes to the tank.

Any suggestions are welcomed.
