Building my 89 civic
Hey guys, so im pretty new to building cars but im going to have my dads help and hes a mechanic. Not really used to anything other than muscle cars but I think he'll be helpful anyways :P. I've got a couple questions. I want to build up a monster of a civic, I have the money so thats not a problem, im just looking for a bit of advice. I have done a bit of homework and im looking to put a b18 crate engine into it, and I want to get the maximum amount of power out it. This website gives me a bunch of options to do with compression ratio, core charge (Which I dont have a clue what that is), 4 cylinder head porting, Vtec head, which I assume would be a good thing to get, but again im not too sure. Ill definitely be adding a turbo but that'll come later. If I do this, what other parts of the car am I going to have to upgrade to make sure I dont break something? Im assuming transmission and clutch for sure. If anyone could give me a few reccommendations on where to get that, where I can save myself a bit of money and such it would be much appreciated. Also, if I buy a b18 crate engine, how much ****ing around am I going to have to do to drop it into the car? Obviously an engine hoist and stuff like that but will I need to be doing any serious modifications? Thanks in advance for all your help!
