Best Engine/trans swap for 92 hatch?
Best Engine/trans swap for 92 hatch?
I have a 92 civic hatch I want to make ridiculously fast, I plan on spending up to about 10k-12k (7-10k on performance and the rest on visuals/interior) on building this bad boy over the next year or 2. So post away on what the best options would be for me on any mods with a larger budget. I want this thing to be stupid fast, its all stock right now, please include as much detail as possible.
once its done i probably wont drive it too much, just for fun and show and to torch my friends on the street haha.
thanks guys.
and also i dont wanna hear anyone telling me to buy a different car or anything i want this civic, il buy another car when im done with it.

well i personally think that its what u really want if your try to get really good numbers i say goes with the h22 but u gotta do alot of swaping ecu's an all that good stuck since your wantin to be in that 7k-10k range go all out with engine internal(build it right). if your kinda trendy stick with the b18 what b16 head but dunno im keeping its simple with the d16z6 sohc (vtec) not to much but enough i've heard the blocks are really strong but dunno well see good luck with that an i would love to see that car grow over the years lol. p.s. looking for 88-91 crx parts or turbo anything really hit me up if u kno any1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!thx<<<<<<<<<<<
Re: Best Engine/trans swap for 92 hatch?
yeah, sohc vtec (d16z6) has a real good and strong block most of the eastern europe turbo-hondas are actually d16z6. Here it does not cost much. for example, d16z6 costs about 600€ whole swap but b16a2 has minimum of 1200+ swap. both swaps include full enginge, mounts, tranny, wiring, axles, ecu.
Its really easy to boost d16z6 to about 300 hp. but i suggest changing pistons, valves, valve springs, cams and few other things to handle the boost and make it more durable.
oh, and by the way, if you think of having crx d16z5 or d16a9 (non vtec) swap - no. too much work, rare parts, costy parts and stock block isnt that strong.
