Stage 3 clutch

just bought a 95 Hatch with a 97 1.6 vtec...this is a daily driver...aside from costs, what are the ups and downs of a stage 3 clutch vs stock...its a Y5 (e) completely stock engine

you don't need a stage 3 clutch unless you plan on producing hella torque.. You'd be wasting money otherwise.

i second ricerboy, a "stage 3 racing clutch" on a stock car isn't going to make you oh so fast lol. but if you are planning to mod your car, i recommend buying a stage 2 tho. guessing you probably rag your car out often, the stage 2 clutch won't burn up as fast.

Eh, depending on your mods, a stage 2 is even excessive. A stage 1 held up just fine when I was running low boost, and now with nothing but I/H/E and a stage 1 cam, I don't plan on getting other than an oem replacement.
