Engine Stalling, Need some tips
Hello guys my very first post so I will get to the point, I have a 1991 Honda Civic Sedan DX. The problem is, whenever I run low on gas, or sometimes just below the halfway mark, whenever I brake hard or brake softly, the cars idle will drop from 750 to about 500, sputter and in some cases just stall, causing me to start the car again. It starts again with no problems. What should I look at first before attempting to fix this?
Re: Engine Stalling, Need some tips
i know this might sound weird but i had the same problem but mine was caused bY a cloged cat. so i switched to high flow and bam problem solved i was ahhhh like ok wow it worked . one of my friends helped me with it but then again i also changed everything to do with fuel lines before friend gave me idea about cat. hope it helps.... what happened was the guts of the cat broke loose and when i breaked the insides moved around and caused a BLOCKAGE.
Re: Engine Stalling, Need some tips
My cat is still good and what now. Also this happened after I installed a new header and exhaust (but thats for another thread), this only happens when near empty or below half way mark, when full there is no issue whatsoever, every runs like a beauty. Besides the fuel pump, what else can I check for this? Ill test the fuel pump once this blizzard in New York blows over.
Re: Engine Stalling, Need some tips
Sounds like it's either the actual fuel pickup or your fuel tank pressure valve. Bear in mind, it could still be the fuel pump, fuel filter, EVAP, or EGR. And, of course, the first thing to do is change your gas cap (cheap insurance).
