1991 Civic Igniter Question
1991 Civic Igniter Question
Couldn't find much in the search so here goes:
I have no spark and have narrowed it down to the igniter but not really sure how to check it.
The Haynes manual says to check for continuity between the white wire and ground and also the blue wire and ground.
The igniter has four wires on it but they are so old that the white wire looks yellow and the other colors are faded. In short I have no clue which one the blue wire is.
Well I checked for continuity with the ground and the only wire that has continuity is black/yellow???
Can someone please point me in the right direction.
Thanks

Re: 1991 Civic Igniter Question
Just rechecked my circuits and...
lack of continuity between the blue wire and ground means an open circuit between the igniter unit and the tachometer or the automatic transaxle control unit.
Does anyone know what my next step should be????

Re: 1991 Civic Igniter Question
Ok it wasn't the f@ckin igniter it was the coil.
FYI. The coil test in the Haynes manual is not substitute for doing it the old school way.
Provide juice to the coil (+ and -) and stick your finger in it. LOL
