What should I pay???

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum, I am looking to buy a Civic and I need some advice. I have a new Toyota Tundra that gets horrible gas mileage and I now have to commute 1.5 hours one way to work.

I have attached a link to pictures of the Civic I am looking at. It is a 96' CX hatchback, 5-Speed 4cyl with 295,000mi. Runs good, it's very clean, never had any problems and is completely stock except the rims. I was wondering what is the most I should pay for it? I was thinking 2,000-2,200 at the most????

Sorry to be the new guy coming in with questions, but If I purchase it I will contribute. I am always modding my Tundra and on the forums, and I do my own work on all my vehicles.

Thanks in advance for any help. Here is the link:

Where I live, KBB says you can expect to pay $2,870 if you're buying from a dealer, but I would advise you to go on KBB.com and put in your own zip code and other details to give you a more accurate price.

Re: What should I pay???

It'd probably kill ya if I told you last month I picked up a '92 Si Hatchback... with only 105K original miles.... for $1500. Sure, the paint's not great (remind me never to buy a black car new,) but otherwise in cherry condition. For a car with three times that mileage... I'd seriously reconsider... unless they have a full maintenance log.

Just my sense x2....

if it were me, i would walk right past it and find 1 with lower miles, that is a LOT of miles, and regardless of how it looks, they all look like crap when they are broken down in your driveway
