Honda civic with v-6??

i have a 94 civic dx coupe with 297k miles and just recieved a 2001 4-door accord with a 3.0 v-6 and automatic. has anyone heard of swapping the v-6 into the civic?? i understand it would not be a simple swap, but id like to see/hear about the obstacles of such a swap

Re: Honda civic with v-6??

Why don't you just keep the engine in the 2001. If it's a v-6 that means it's a coupe too right? Accords are more roomy than a civic but I wouldn't swap that into the civic. If you have alot invested in the civic already instead of one toy why not two??? That's just my opinion though. I have seen some accords hang quiet well. I personally plan to swap my engine for an Acura integra engine just waiting til I absolutely need it. As of right now I'm at 180k miles and want to get everything else the way I want it first.

It's not the same motor, but you get the idea.

Haha I just noticed you said that it's a four door but I still wouldn't try that swap maybe just use the accord as a daily driver and the civic to play with

Re: Honda civic with v-6??

yes, it is a 4-door, and i was wrong bout the year, its a 98. my civic is totally stock aside from a fart tube intake and a custom made side pipe. the accord has been rolled over gently into a ditch, ruining the a and c pillars, so that car is done. ive been browsing some other forums trying to gather info, and other people make it out like its just as easy as doing a k swap, but im not finding much detail about the exhaust routing, or pcm repositioning. and everyone else has the money to buy a six speed tranny, whereas id be using the stock auto. maximum performance is of no concern, cuz id already be doubling the power, and id be fine with it going thru a slushbox. i just think that wud be pretty sweet having a fast *** civic with a v6, and still be smooth and quiet with an automatic

would make one awsum ride. if ya'll would like to see one example, go to honda-tech.com and type "j30 civic swap" into their search engine, look for EVS-ONE's post, he did a little documentation on the build
