Spark plug recommendation

The manual recommends two NGK plugs for my Civic, BCPR6EY-N11 and BCPR6E-11. Most of my driving is at low speed in town with very rare trips on the freeway. Which is the right plug, or is there a better one not in the manual?

Re: Spark plug recommendation

What kind of car do you have? Do you have that 89 Civic that is in your sig? I would maybe just get a basic Platinum plug for your car.

I got the NGK Iridiums. I wont put anything buy an Iridium plug in my car. They are great. I put them in when my car had 40,000 miles on it, so I didn't really notice anything different, but the nice thing is. I have 82K on my car now and they are still in good shape.

The age of the car I would say depends a lot on what I would consider worth it. I would say any car from the 80s until about 2000 I would say Platinum. Anything 2001 or newer I would do Iridium. Mostly preference. Just get a Platinum, or if you think your car is worth dishing out the money for the Iridiums go for it.

Don't fall into the rapid fire, double prong, or +4s or any other crap like that. 1 prong works just as good as 2, or 4. I promise!

i got denso iridium. but in all honesty, the $2 ngk v-power plugs work well too. you just gotta change them every couple years cause they are copper.

Re: Spark plug recommendation

ditto from gearbox, if you are running bone stock go with the v-power ngk. there are less than 10 bucks for a set from advance, and you can put the rest in your gas tank and get your grind on one mo time.....
