how do I know if I need to change my engine oil?
there's a ROD that i can pull out and I can see oil at the tip. But theres a protruded Dot at the lower portion of the ROd maybe it's the suiggested level. My oil indicated lower than that at engine cold.Do i need to change oil?or add?
pls help.

LOL - dude. OK, I saw your other post where Adam hooked you up on the power steering fluid, so OK.
Change your oil every 3,000 miles. Period. Some folks say "Blah, I do mine every 5,000 miles and Honda says to change it every 7500 miles". **** all that. Every 3000 miles - change the filter too - and you're good to go. If you don't know when the last time the oil was changed, do it now and start fresh. Better to possibly waste $20 on an oil and filter and be guaranteed to hasve fresh oil, than take the chance on the undetermined age of the dyno **** in there now.
From an oil level standpoint, look at your dipstick and you should see some lines. Typically the oil has to cover all of those lines, whether it's hot or cold. See this pic for an example.

Thanks Ernie - I used my superior analytic skills on your SN and they failed me!
LOL - no dude, I've seen all kinds of different colors. Completely depends on the manufacturer of the vehicle.
