Honestly adding an adjustable cam gear really only helps if you are running nitrous or turbo, or an aftermarket camshaft. The gear enables you to retard or advance the camshaft timing. It is most useful to enhance the tuning of the motor when these are in use. If you are just planning on running all motor, stay stock. It is the best way to keep the timing belt from "skipping"(very bad)
Hope this helps.
