New (to me) 2000 Honda Civic EX - what is my engine code?
I just bought a 2000 Honda Civic EX. It is a 4 door. I don't know if the car has had a timing belt changed or not, and I plan on doing one this week as well as a few other things.
I am an Evo guy and I typically don't work on Hondas. Can anyone tell me which "series" engine this has? (The Letter, like "D" or whichever)
I think the car belonged to an old lady. From what I can tell all of the parts are stock =)

if you're in america it should have a d16y8 vtec,
canada it should have a d16y7 non-vtec

All of my experiences are Mitsubishi and Mazda related so hopefully working on this car will be easy. Everything seems accessible for the most part.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
