P0505 (Idle Air Control Valve) Keeps popping up, despite being replaced 4x
I own a 2000 civic EX coupe with its regular d16y8 MAT, the car is completely fine till I came across a check engine light code for the Idle Air Control Valve, I have replaced it numerous amount of times but the code keeps popping up. Whenever the Light comes on, and I’m at a stand still and I try slowly revving up into 2500 RPM’s it fluctuates and acts like a 2 step. Another factor I can point out is my temperature gauge acts really slow and weird. It climbs up slowly, but it drops drastically back to cold when I drive. It’s doesn’t reach completely to operating temps just a quarter way up. Would love some
feedback on how to stop the code and save money from having to replace parts continuously.

Sounds like the ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor on the cylinder head may needs to be tested and possibly replaced. Check the radiator and coolant reservoir to ensure they are at the proper level: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...ffect-3249080/
