I have a 97 EX that i plan on swapping a 5 sp to a auto so my wife can drive my car too. Old dog new tricks type thing and a physical limitation on why she cant drive a stick. Do I need to swap harnesses and ecu? If I had the money Id just drop a k24 or h22 kit i found online. But shed still not be able to drive it.

TBH I'd reccomend just selling the car and buying an automatic transmission. Unless you've got a lot invested into the car, I just can't see it being worth it to convert it to automatic.

Thanks! Ive been trying to get that to happen, get a truck. But wives are wives, if I do keep the car I want to change the seats out, they suck compared to the 8th gen ones. That will come when I get the money to buy some when they become available. The main reason for all of this thinking is because I think the engine is leaking oil into the flywheel/clutch assembly area, causing slippage. Feels like the wheels hopping from spin, my thought is that the oil is causing the slippage and whatnot.

At any rate I appreciate your reply big time. I dont think the wife wants to go down to one car for more than a day with something like this. Hell I dont mind, id get to drive the 06 coupe for that time.
