Crank no start 99 Honda Civic DX/ timing?
Crank no start 99 Honda Civic DX/ timing?
First post, please don't yell at this point im desperate haha, help!! So here's the run down, car died while driving I'm getting a weak spark at the ignition coil spring. I've replaced the coil, tested the igniter (getting power via my test light.. could still be shot??_), replaced the distributor cap, plugs and wires, checked out two different kinds of rotors, put the old wires and plugs back in incase they sold me the wrong plugs. I have set the timing to TDC but I still think it's off? Slipped teeth? In the pictures I provided you can see a white mark on the belt but I think it may be just a smudge? The cam and crank pully marks are both lined up. Also the fuel pump is kicking on and the line doesn't seem to be clogged and seemed to have plenty of pressure when I broke the nut loose and let it spray some. I've replaced the main relay, checked all fuses. Uhhh, I think that's it. It did run for a few seconds until I killed the battery after replacing all of this until I killed the key. Also the car abruptly died while driving.
If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Soooooo Original coil went bad (lost spark) while driving and the engine died?
Coil replaced, but now the engine is still flooded from the lost spark event? (this happens a lot, it can take a lot of work to get a flooded engine cleared out and running again)
Are the spark plugs wet now?
Cap and wires replaced, but wire order (firing order) wrong around the dist cap?
No marks on the timing belt. Your only guides are the TDC and timing marks for the pulleys.
If you can't quite see if the cam pulley marks aligned with the head surface or arrows, grab a small mirror (makeup mirror works)

The marks looked good...are you set at TDC for cylinder very 1 or cylinder 4...compression stroke...why I even have to say it I don't know....should be on TDC 1...
a flooded chamber is quite simple...unplug the injectors and the the distributor from the harness...crank for about 10 seconds...should push all the fuel out the exhaust...or you can try the old and slow way of taking the spark plugs out and letting it evaporate...are your plugs fouled
