I have been searching through the web and have found mixed answers. Is the exhaust manifold and cat 1 piece? Or can you replace just the manifold and keep the same cat. Some say they are welded together while others say they are bolted together. I would like a definitive answer before I have to spend either $25 for just the manifold or 200+ for the manifold and cat together. Thanks.

Re: D16y7 2000lx exhaust manifold/cat

The OE part was built as a one piece unit.
Check any online Honda dealership parts catalog if you want, replacements through Honda are still one piece.
Heat shields and gaskets are sold separately though.

I've seen pics of an aftermarket unit that was 2 piece, manifold chamber was separate from the cat and they bolted together.
