Hello all,
I ordered a driver side CV axle for my 1996 Civic, from Raxles, but when it arrived, the box said "1992 Civic" on it. I emailed and asked, what year Civic they sent me axle for, they replied 1992 - 2000 Civic. Hmm? It’s my understanding, that my '96 Civic a “6th Generation”, which is from 1996 - 2000 NOT 1992 - 2000.
Did they send me the correct axle?

should fit, i know you can swap struts, hubs, trans, engine, etc between the two. it might be that the oem 5th gen doesn't have an abs tone ring or something, but the 6th gen one does

Re: Did Raxles send me the correct axle?
Factory catalog showed me 3 different axle part numbers just for the 96 just on the drivers side
44011-S01-003
44011-S01-951
44011-S04-951
What are the differences? Doesn't say.....but we all know you can install an axle with an ABS tone ring into a non-ABS car, and really there shouldn't be a significant difference between Japan made and Canadian made versions of the 96.
Lots of stuff interchanges in the aftermarket.
They are good for consolidating many choices down to a scant few....and the 5th and 6th gens do have a lot of stuff that can interchange.
(dealer catalog rarely reveals stuff like this)
@Colin42, @ezone,
Thanks!
Called Raxles, Marty reassured me this is correct axle and fitment as well as confirmed it has abs tone ring.
FWIW, Here she is...
