Re: any difference between ex axle-back and lx/dx axle-back

the axleback i believe is the same but the mid-pipe and header are different. I had a megan racing axleback that i believe was for an ex on my lx sedan for a while before i got a different exhaust setup

Re: any difference between ex axle-back and lx/dx axle-back

i think the actual axle-back is the same considering its just the one piece. an ex cat back wont work because the lx/dx header/downpipe that would bolt to it are different. if youre using your stock header, stock downpipe, youd need to go with new lx/dx mid pipes as well that would bolt to the ex axle back.

if you want just the ex axle back itself, its making me think youre going to go with your stock header/downpipe/other piping which i think should work fine. that makes me wonder though how youd connect the ex axle back to the rest of your stock system? would you cut the flange off then weld it to your existing piping? because i think they come with a 2 bolt flange on the end..

Re: any difference between ex axle-back and lx/dx axle-back

there is no welding required for installing just a axleback untuned. i went out and looked at the stock muffler and it has a two bolt flange on it (LX). so if he wants just the axleback it should be just fine.

oh ok. i have an ex, and i never paid attention to any of that when i took my stock off. not even sure if its the same, but i thought it was just a straight pipe.
