Help 97 Civic EX

Hey i just need to know if anyone has ever had this happen to them and what the problem is i got the car and the temp gauge was reading normal as long as the car was driving when i came to a stop the guage will read hot then i was going to work one day and my heat went out then it started running hot. I stopped and got out and the car had leaked all the water out i let the car cool off and refilled it and started the car to see if i could find 1 but there is none the car will idle fine and the guage will never read hot it moves to where its supposed to be and stays and the water is just disappearing after time

Yup, that's a problem. Figure out where the coolant is going.

Overheating causes damage, so be aware it may be hurt.
