Painting Carbon Fiber?

Painting Carbon Fiber?
This feels like a stupid question, but you can paint carbon fiber body panels, right? So many people have naked CF hoods, and I'm not sure if that's to show off the CF, or if there's actually some problem with painting it. Just wondering...
