purge vale ohms ???

Does anyone know how many ohms a good evap purge valve should read? This is the purge vale located on the top of the motor behind the fuel injectors on a 2000 civic.

Honda doesn't seem to think that people need to know specs like that. They want you to inspect every other little thing, but never ohm test a component. LOL

Current draw on a minor computer driven load is normally far less than one amp, so the load (solenoid valve) should be a lot higher than 12 ohms.
I'll guess it would be in the 30-40 ohm range.

What's yours measure?

Anyone reading want to check a good one on a live car?

It's not shorted or open circuit, so I'd run with it.

Does it click and pass engine vacuum when power and ground are applied to it?

Ohm test the bypass solenoid.

Try to locate bulletin 13-001 from Honda, relates to shorting of the bypass solenoid internally, which wipes out the driver inside the PCM.

I googled and got this Acura version of the bulletin, but the pics are not right for your car: http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/misc/...iag/03-001.pdf
