Re: Ecu??
Loaded question, there is a lot you need to do.. Just some stuff off the top of my head but dont quote me or blame me if you blow up your car...Some of the below depends on how you drive an what not so some of it can be switched around....
on a side note search, search, search and if that fails google this question.
how much is your budget, what do you want from the car.. the more info you give the more you will get. HTH
These are the things you NEED to turbo your car:
Turbo
Manifold
Downpipe
Dump Tube
Charge Piping
Fuel Management
Oil Lines
Oil Tap
Oil Pan Gasket
Couplers
Vacuum Lines
Wastegate
Manifold Gasket
Turbo Gasket
Downpipe Gasket
These are things you SHOULD get turbo your car:
255lph Fuel Pump
Injectors
Intercooler
Chipped (OBD1)
OBD2->OBD1 Conversion Harness (if required)
Fuel Pressure Regulator
Fuel Pressure Gauge
Boost Gauge
Oil Pressure Gauge
Blow-Off Valve
Blow Off Valve Flange
Blow Off Valve Gasket
More vacuum lines
Tachometer (in cluster or external)
Things that are NICE to have:
Stage 1 Street Clutch
Resurface Flywheel
Billet Cam Seals
2.5" exhaust
Bigger Radiator
Wideband
Wideband O2 Gauge (A/F Gauges are bunk)
Oil Temp Gauge
EGT Gauge (Pyrometer)

Re: Ecu??
Just wanted to know If I needed a different ecu or can the P2E be chipped and tuned for turbo. And how big injectors I needed to run 5-8 psi boost. I have most of what I need just a few items I'm missing

Re: Ecu??
sorry, been a long day...i read a little to far into it...so appoligies for the overboard response....
ECU is chippable from my understanding but from what i have read is risky..i am sure someone with more exp in that area can explain why..
not 100% but i think you would upgrade them to 320 injectors

Re: Ecu??
I have a turbo on my civic running factory ecu and 240cc injectors at the time being. To run 5-8 psi it is required that you have at least 320cc since they max out at 9psi where the 240cc injectors max out at 4psi. Also you will need a wideband o2 sensor just to monitor the system with your computer. The narrowband computer cannot withstand the heat produced by a turbo. I cannot say if the factory computer will stand up to 9psi but I will tell you on sunday. My 320cc injectors will be here tomorrow so I will know something by sunday. I know the factory computer is monitoring my turbo without modifications at 4 psi and does a great job. I do however have a computer coming for my 5 speed swap that is preprogrammed for 9 psi until I can get the tune that I want. I will know something more this weekend but I will try to keep you posted as I can. Any more questions just ask
Re: Ecu??
Ok I have an update from the weekend as I put my 320cc injectors in. The factory computer seems to let the injectors run ok but as far idle it sounds like i have a big cam because the car lopes now. I have my reprogrammed computer now for the 320cc injectors also but I have to put my 5 speed in the car first.
On a side note after going from 4psi to 9 psi the civic is a whole other beast.
Your factory computer will run the 240cc injectors just fine as long as they are high impedence injectors. You will run rich at idle but after that its all good.
