Question Adjusted my valves, no what?

ok today at work i replaced and did the following,
- new timing belt
- new plugs
- Valve Cover Gasket/ Plug Tube Gaskets
- Coolant Flush
- Adjusted the Valves to spec
- New o2 sensor

now heres my issue, its ticking pretty loud. When i replace the head gasket i got the head machined and pressure tested, and everything checked out. so im pretty stumped on whats next to look at. Im thinking maybe a bent valve? becuz its also burning oil. I need this car to be able to pass emissions, the MIL light is not on.

well i know there is an exhaust leak at the gasket where header meets the exhaust pipe. its got an aftermarket exhaust and header on it and the person that put it on didnt put a gasket or its brittle and cracked. but i didnt think an exhaust leak would make the valves tick loud? maybe i should look into a new motor if valves are bent? idk anything about internals on motors. any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If the head (and everything in it, as inspected by your machine shop) "checked out" as you say, what on Earth would make you think you have a bent valve?
but i didnt think an exhaust leak would make the valves tick loud?
No, an exhaust leak won't make valves tick right away, but an exhaust tick is often misinterpreted as a valve tick.
idk anything about internals on motors.
Find someone who DOES.

I bet you need to readjust the valves properly. Have a pro with plenty of experience in this particular area show you how. Technique and feel just can't be described easily in writing.

How on Earth did you do the head gasket if you don't know anything about internal engine stuff?
(Motors are electric.)

becuz its also burning oil.
How much?
What do you see that makes you say this?

Why was the head pulled?
