Cleaned IACV and car stalls every start
Cleaned IACV and car stalls every start
car has low idle when warm so i cleaned the iac with carb cleaner and let it dry for 20-30 mins then put it back on. i sprayed it with the plug and hoses still on btw. when i put it back on and started the car it died right after. did it multiple times and still stalled. there is a little cut in the mesh on the iac, not sure if that is important. do i need a new iac? did i **** everything up by leaving the hoses on and getting carb cleaner through there?

Did you plug the connector back in?
The spray may have caused it to be stuck now. Can you poke at the plunger and get it to move again? You can rip the screen out too.
I usually just scrape the screen on that type and blow it out with compressed air.
Also try the idle learn after it works again: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/1...ml#post4619323

i let it dry out over night and it started up and ran good in the morning until it got warm again and now the idle is worse. im going to try a coolant bleed now
Re: Cleaned IACV and car stalls every start
I'm having a similar problem. I'm pretty sure I remember my car idling around 900rpm (I've only had the car a few weeks, and really only driven it around the block a few times), but it's been idling around 1500 for the past few days. When I press the clutch in, the rpm drops to 900 but then goes right back up to 1500. I took off my IACV and sprayed a little bit of carb cleaner in there, hoping that would solve the problem, but it's still doing it. Since I didn't take the hoses off either, I'm glad I didn't spray the hell out of it. Let me know if you get it working properly again.
