1997 cold slip at dead stop cvt tranny

hello i have a transmission question regarding a 1997 honda cvt tranny. It slips and clunks when cold on dead stop acceleration. As it warms its gets to normal operation with no slip or clunking on dead stop acceleration. I just bought the vehicle and it did this so i changed the transmissin fluid. I used valvoline cvt transmission fluid. Do you have any suggestions? here is the oil i used http://www.pepboys.com/product/details/188634/ it lists hmmf as being compatible oil on the back label. Could it be electrical? thanks for your help fellas.

Use Genuine Honda CVT tranny fluid only. That could be causing the odd behavior. I don't know the procedure for draining and filling that CVT but you could look it up. Repeat, if necessary until essentially all of the incorrect fluid is gone.

The CVT (Civic HX) transmissions have known reliability issues, as in, not as reliable that the 4-speed torque converter auto or the manual.
