Mildly annoying smell inside when it's hot.
Mildly annoying smell inside when it's hot.
I've only started to realize and recognize this smell after I've been borrowing a friend's car for a while I returned to my Civic.
I can't really describe it in words but it seems to be magnified when it's hot and dry outside. It seems to be radiating out from the seats but I'm not quite sure. I highly suspect that it could be coming from the heat reacting with the fibers on the surface of the seats but I have no definite proof. Note, I don't have leather seats, just the standard ones that came with the car. It's fairly faint and smells like a combination of burning and mildew.
I also remember the same or a very similar smell coming from my dad's old early 1990s accord back in the day when he had it.
Any ideas where I can pinpoint this smell and if so, how to get rid of it?
