Is this a good idea???
Is this a good idea???
Okay so what I do is get on like autozone to look up some parts for my car but instead of paying for the full price there, I'll copy the part number and look it up on ebay or amazon. Since it is the same part number, shouldn't it be the same product but just a different seller? Or is it possible for it to be a generic kind? I just don't wanna keep doing this and get jipped. What do you think?

Totally safe and actually quite smart.
Amazon is more trustworthy than Ebay, but as long as the seller gives you detailed information of the product and has a good return policy, go for it! I buy almost every part online.

Just some advice.. be picky as hell while shopping eBay. Even if they have detailed info, it may be convincing enough to be a knock off. Sure, it'll look the same, but performance and quality is a completely different story.

I only buy appearance parts from eBay. Last time I bought some "MOOG" tie-rod ends from eBay they looked the exact same as the MOOG I had but, wore out in a couple of months. Your experience may differ.
