2000 civic SE no spark!
2000 civic SE no spark!
Help Please! Wife drives this.
Here's a brief history:
-No Warning lights appears with approx. 2,000,000 KM
-did not use car for 3 days, was missing when first start...was running ok after warm up.
-all seem fine under normal use for 3 days
-was not use for 1 day, than motor won't turn over
Actions and diagnostic:
_A back yard mechanic friend check for sparks with tester, confirm sparks but was back firing.
-check timing belt. looks ok.
-Check compression,no compression on cylinders 2 and 3.
-Remove head, gasket was fine.
=pour gas on top of head and it was leaking through the values, shows signs of carbon build up and thought value not seated
-Sent head out to be rebuild, cost 600 dollars with new gasket kit.
-Reassemble motor and changed timing belt without having to touch the cps because of mileage
-Now getting no sparks
-check and replace distributor cap
Still no spark, Possible causes are distributor, coil, wires and cps.
What to do next????Any help, comments is greatly appreciated!

Re: 2000 civic SE no spark!
Whip out the volt meter and see where the power stops flowing. The ignition coil is a module inside the distributor thing, attached to the passenger side of the engine. Check to see if the positive lead to that ignition coil is at 12v or something else
