Help Driver side Speaker Noise

ok guys just installed a new head unit and a mono amp for my subs. The driver side speaker now has noise. When i took the fuse out of the amp power wire the noise stoped and all speakers preformed normaly but obviously there is no power to my amp for now. I had the power wire tucked under the trim, I moved it under the carpet closer to the ceter concel no change. I did not buy cheep wires any thoughts? I have a long ground going to my amp. could it be the amps ground? Its only this one speaker when the power wire is connected.

any thoughts would be great!

Yes it could be the amps ground and that is where I would start. It's suppose to be as short as possible and have a good connection. Make sure you sand paper any paint or anything that is on the body so that you can get a good connection to the bar metel of the car.

Re: Help Driver side Speaker Noise

Also you should always run your 12v power cable separate from your RCA audio wire to keep out any excess noise.

Re: Help Driver side Speaker Noise

ok guys this really stinks, I do have rca cablese routed on the passenger side far away. Also i am just using the power from the deck entill my 4 channel amp comes. ok back to the issue, no noise with amp off. when the amp is on (power in the line going back to it) I get a noise only in the on position, and no noise in the acc position, when the engion is running it is much worse and I get another squeal from what seams to be around the gauge cluster. It gets much worse as I accelerate and the speaker goes crazy. I took the inline fuse out of my power wire and the speakers perform normally again, plz help. I tried shortening the ground.

Re: Help Driver side Speaker Noise

Since it gets worse with engine on and when your accelerating you are definiety getting noise from something. Did you hook up your ground from the head unit to the chassis of the head unit?

Re: Help Driver side Speaker Noise

omg Im a idiot lol so I ran my front and rear channel rca's also so when i get my 4 channel amp I dont have to pull the head unit back out a bit of a pain on my model. so I took my car to a audio shop and paid then 50 bucks for them to tell me my rca was touching my power block LOL It was loose rolling around in my trunk. Next time Ill tape my ends till i plug them into my 4 channel amp lesson learned!!
