fuel light quiry
hi can anyone tell me if my 1999 civic 1.4 hatchback uk model has a fuel light. i've had the car a week and run it all the way down from half a tank to when the needle is over the single red line on the fuel gauge but still no sign of a light coming on. when i filled it up i put 36.85 litres in it to fill it up. did i still have fuel left in it. i did 147 miles for half a tank is that normal, my last car was a disel so not sure what i'm to expect.

Re: fuel light quiry
you can take a flashlight and shine it on the gauges to see if you spot the icon or light. if you do, then you may have a bad fuel float sensor on the bottom of the pump thats not reading the level properly.

I noticed when I removed my cluster that I didn't even have a light bulb in the fuel light socket. Could've been from the previous owner, but would be worth checking (assuming you have the icon)
