Horsepower!
Horsepower!
Alright well, I've been researching and researching a while on adding horsepower to the most common engine in 6th gen civics (The D16Y8). So far I have found this setup should get the most power: Vitara pistons on Eagle rods, Head studs, 600+ cc injectors, walbro fuel pump, and like 20+ psi boost on a good 60 trim turbo.
I'm probably missing a few things, but this setup is known as the "Vitara build". Basically you're adding a little strength to the bottom end, and the head for the higher compression of running high boost. My question is: is this setup really a good way to go, and do you have any suggestions to add to this setup?

Re: Horsepower!
Youre pretty much making your tractor faster. i would recommend if you have the funds doing a swap then spending the money to make it better. b16a2 or b18c is a fairly inexpensive easy swap which will give you all the hp you are getting by doing these upgrades but it still leaves you the option to get more. but thats just my opinion. you could go ahead with what youre doing but it is honestly kind of a waste
Re: Horsepower!
Doing a dohc swap will run you at least $3000 before you even start thinking about mods. Doing the vitara build is a great way to get some quick power and for a reasonable price. It's not going to be crazy fast but it'll be hella fun to drive. People are going to hate on what you drive no matter what you drive so do what you wanna do and just enjoy it.
