Rep Power: 0 Should I buy it?
Im looking for my first car, and im not very knowledgeable on cars.
I have got pretty midset on a civic, and I found a decent looking one in my price range.
The car is = http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/2333543889.html
My worry is the mileage. Is 187k too high?
Is the price on the car good?
Is the 28-35 mpg correct?
Thanks

Pick another, it's already sold. If it sold that fast then it was probably a good deal. Personally I wouldn't pay more than $2500-3000 for an older Civic. I also don't buy a vehicle unless I do a compression test.

A lot of miles but, not horrible. "Sounds" like it has been maintained good.
1. Ask when the timing belt/water pump was done last and if it's near then you have to take that $500 into account when buying.
2. Run your own carfax
3. test drive for tranny/engine problems
He put $2350 expecting someone to haggle him down to $2000. If the timing belt is near due then it needs to be considerably cheaper- I'll leave the price up to you but, you know what I mean.

there is always a reason for selling something. nobody sells a car that is in perfect condition so you should always expect to put money into any used car. sometimes you get lucky and there arent too many problems.
