B Pipe Warranty?
B Pipe Warranty?
Hi,
I had the original B pipe of my 98 EX replaced back in 2006 and the shop provided me with a lifetime warranty on both the parts and labor for it. Last month when I had the car in the shop for a new timing belt, they noticed that my B pipe is busted and needs to be replaced. (I knew something was up with the exhaust system: it was louder than usual and you can visually see the exhaust hanging low). Of course, when I mentioned remembering something about a warranty, they said nah, it was probably for the muffler (which I've also had replaced) and that it's usually only a 12-month warranty anyway. They even claimed to look up the work order from the 2006 replacement and didn't see anything about a warranty.
By some stroke of luck, I happened to be cleaning out my closet this past weekend and came across an old bag I used for work. I went through its contents and lo and behold, I came across not only a copy of the work order for the B pipe replacement but also the Honda Warranty! The shop is going to honor it but I wonder why this was such a mystery to them. Is it that uncommon for Honda to issue warranties on their parts and labor?
I assume I probably shouldn't expect to get another warranty on the new pipe...
Thanks@
