Hey guys got a 99 SIlooking to do a swap on it. When I got the car it had pretty much been converted to ex. Last year I found a fairly good deal on a b16 that was supposed to have low miles on it. However I have recently heard some knocking coming from the bottom end. Figure it's probably about the same price to swap in a GSR motor as to have the b16 rebuilt. Anyway my question is. I have been told that the regualr GSR is more buildable than the Type R. Is this true? Also is the wiring pretty much the same on the JDM motors as the US market motors?

Why would anyone downgrade an engine? doesnt sound right lol Idk much about the type r's so i cant answer that question but wiring is generally the same for jdm and us
