New catback

So I'm about to put a cat back on my 96 ex coupe. i want to know if a sleeker muffler or a fat muffler would sound better. im looking for a deep tone with less rasp.

Re: New catback

Well--the bigger the diameter the muffler the deeper it will sound. Raspiness is (and don't quote me on this, this is purely opinion) a matter of the brand of the exhaust. The buddy club spec II exhaust sounds extremely raspy, but is supposed to be excellent at flowing air. Not sure what your setup is, but if you're looking for a deeper tone, the fat muffler would probably be best. With a cat, the rasp should be cut down to a minimum.
