99 2 door ex power door lock not working

as i was leaving work today i noticed neither door would open with the remote. i tried opening the driver side door manually with the key and it wouldnt open. tried getting the trunk open with the key but that wouldnt open either (i thought that was very strange). finally i tried the passenger side door and it opened manually with the key....from the inside the lock switch is only opening and locking the passenger side lock but the driver side lock doesnt do anything. the remote isnt opening or locking either door. it makes the noise as if the doors are locking and unlocking but they actually arent. any idea on whats wrong with it?

The Door Lock Actuators need to be replaced.
The motors usually rust up and seize.
Depending on where you are located I might be able to help you. If you are handy with tools etc. you can easily do it yourself.
Otherwise, you can check wreckers for used ones or here on the forum as well as the Stealer-- ahh, I mean, dealership where the prices are a bit high.
The Universal DLA's can be made to work, but I think that keeping it OEM looks much cleaner.
PM back if necessary.

Not necessarily. I had the same issue and it turned out the wires became exposed and it shorted out. it was a super easy and cheap fix and there was nothing wrong with my actuator

Good for you as you got lucky on that one.
Generally, most of the time, it is due to the DLA motor rusting and seizing up.
His DLA's are powered as he can hear them trying to operate/move the linkage. Shorted and exposed wires should produce blown fuse.
No shorted wires there.
I see these all the time.
